* Neglected Site Receives Proposals

Rogers Park Real Estate news from David Roeder...

City officials have received two development proposals for the old Lerner Newspaper building at 7519 N. Ashland, but it's unclear if anything will happen on the neglected site.

Michael Land, an aide to Ald. Joseph Moore (49th) said the city received two proposals, one from a team of Joseph Freed and Associates LLC and Sivic Real Estate and another from Pam Hallett & Associates.

Land said the Freed proposal calls for condos and town houses, commercial space and a green roof in a five-story building. He said the alderman's office has not met with Hallett.

A company controlled by John Terzakis, part of several soured ventures in this town, owns the Lerner site.

City officials are trying to pressure him to sell by threatening to condemn the property.
