I don’t understand why 12 people beating one person to unconsciousness doesn’t result in charges of attempted murder. I don’t understand why a scum like Marcus Herron (heroin sp?) wasn’t charged as an adult for hate crimes – Gooning as it is called here in RP is simply a hate crime. If white people were acting that way toward individual black people what would it be called?? What would the charges be?? I don’t understand why a punk racist sociopath like Mr. Herron is tolerated or ignored in any way by the police. Or Mr. Moore.
Or then again maybe I do – People like Michael James and Katie Hogan will just say ….”Oh these are good kids … you are just taking this attitude because YOU are racist …” The victim becomes the victimizer. Hey Katie – if it’s rape what do you call it? You idiot …. This “can’t tell the truth because it doesn’t fit with your dinosaur philosophy” hippy bullshit is a major major MAJOR part of the problem here in RP. It is long past time some folks around here were just put out to pasture with a nice bale of marijuana, along with their out of sync philosophy and misplaced paternal attitude.
If things keep up this way, someone else is going to be killed this summer by one of these mobs. Only after exactly that happens to some non-marginal white person will anything be done about this. They can kill people living in halfway houses and nothing happens. They can beat the hell out of a Latino person and nothing happens. One of these days soon, if things keep up and the Joe Moore’s of this world keep acting like we are all living in paradise, they will kill some twenty-something yuppie accountant coming home at midnight from a long days work, the news cams will show up, Joe will jump in front of the lights and explain how he is tough on crime, and everyone will get up about it.
Last year six children died in a fire and we voted for the good friend of the slumlord who killed them. Rogers Park yawned as he stole an election. This year we will shut our eyes and hide behind the curtains as thugs run our neighborhood – thugs invited into Rogers Park with open arms by the political policies, self dealing programs and warped philosophy of people like Joe Moore, Michael James and Katie Hogan. We have found the enemy ……. and it is us.
Shame on you Rogers Park. Your cowardice will torment you in your sleep.
