Joey's been stumping for a big boy's job in DC for years. Unfortunately, nobody's offered him one to date.
It would be a happy day in the 49th ward if Joey finally got the opportunity to do nothing on a national level.

Does anyone know for sure...I believe that if Joey leaves, Richie gets to appoint his own cronie in Joey's place, instead of the people of the 49th getting to choose a new alderman.

Our right to elect our own alderman in the event of a vacancy expires January 21, 2009.
If a vacancy occurs with 28 or more months left in a 4 year term, a special election is called. 28 or less, Daley appoints.

He has a good paying gig here. Doesn't work overly hard. Gets to appear on TV looking vacuous and stupid, easy for him, and has a campaign fund that allows him to spend money legally on things that make his life nicer.
Nope barring something unlikely like death or a federal indictment you Roger Park Rangers are stuck with Joe Moore.
Next time I speak to Jesus I will ask if he needs another saint and suggest Joe.
