This is one of the most outrageous things I've ever heard. At an absolute minimum -- and I'm trying to make lemonade from lemons here -- they should be charged top dollar per square foot, be assessed an extra tax, (as should the buyers of such parking spaces) and be required to to install rooftop gardens, making the building green.
But really, this should be rescinded.
Again and again I say how can the alderman and his committee approve to lease land owned by the city, not the alderman, and no one raise an eyebrow. I am going to look further and see what I can do to lease my parkway and then rent it out. How absurd and I am sure written somewhere, ILLEGAL!
