I was wondering if you knew what was going on with that Descartes Cafe that's on Lunt. Every time I've gone past it (which isn't that often, but it's been more than once, and at multiple times of the day), it's seemed quite abandoned. It's really strange that there's no apparent activity, nothing ever seems to have moved, but it also doesn't seem like it's like it's been cleaned up for the night after a hard days work. Plus there's no hours or anything posted. It seems like the company would close up this shop instead of paying for the location. All quite strange. Are they only opened in the morning for the rush?

BLOGNOTES: Dear Curious in RP, Descartes Cafe has been closed to the public for a year. We also lost the small Grocery Store at 1401 West Lunt too. And the Resale Shop at 1409 West Lunt. All these businesses packed up and left due to the high crime. No one shops in CAPS Beat 2431 area unless they're buying crack or booze. Now all you see is vacant storefronts. You won't read about that in the DevCorp North Journal or Joe Moore's e-mail blasts.

the store under the el on lunt is scaaaaary. there's no way i'm ever going in there.
I actually saw some people roasting beans in there randomly one day. I thought they were thinking of opening it up, but haven't seen activity since.

The Landlord tried to charge them for useage of utilities that they we're not bound to pay, and would not renew their lease.
