According to a hard-core regular who participates in these meetings.
"At least a quarter of the attendees plainly depend on a bottle of pills to maintain their tenuous grasp of reality..."Here's the major players who feed these nut-cases their bottle of pills.
Todd Stroger political hack, David Fagus. The defender of the magic voting pen. Most recently Fagus has come under fire from the federal government on the way he runs his tax payer funded hospital. Here's a sample of what the Chicago Tribune found.
Medical services at the jail fell below constitutionally required standards of care in more than a dozen areas, including in staffing and emergency care. Some inmates died needlessly as a result, the Justice Department concluded. In early 2006, a female inmate died of an untreated infection that was a common complication of HIV, investigators found. She went untreated for weeks despite an abnormal X-ray that identified a problem, the report said. Source.Next up. Community fraud, Jim Ginderske. Ginderske duped Joe Moore with some con about a club called 'Neighbors for a Healthy Rogers Park'. Moore still promotes 'Jimmy the Plumber' as a community leader.
Finally, the Ultimate liar and top Stooge, Alderman Joe Moore. Even a stooge can be a prolific fund-raiser. Moore is also well known as a jock-strap holder for Barack Obama when they're on the road. In the past six months alone Moore raised nearly $150,000 dollars. Mostly from developers and out of ward residents. (FYI:Ginderske publicly denounced this type of behavior when he ran for office. Yet, as a loyal puppy-dog to Joe Moore, he turns his back on this type of donation and rubber stamps Joe Moore's back room, smoke filled development deals.)
It's no wonder Joe Moore has to raise this type of money - even when it's not an election cycle. Look at his legal bills for the first half of this year. He either spends a lot of campaign financed money going after people with law-suits or spends a lot of campaign financed money defending himself from law-suits?
He sure the heck couldn't have spent this much on his prenuptial marriage agreement. Take a look.

That's a lot of money spent on the men in fancy suits with silk ties. And Jeff too. ROTFL. Sorry, Jeff. I couldn't help myself.

this is why you clowns are not journalists- westgard does not "regularly attend" the ward meetings. last night is the second that i have seen him attend.
the article you link to is about the jail, not the hospital.
JM: "Bla, bla, bla, crime is down, bla, bla, community input, bla, bla, Morse Ave. success, bla . . "
DF:(thinking) "David love Joe. Joe so smart. So good for David."
JG:(thinking) "I'm so handsome, so virile, women love me, men want to be me, bloggers fear me. Soon I will be king. King of Rogers Park!"

Hey Mo! How's that beautiful Mile of Murals debacle coming along? As for the Three Stooges, you could be Schemp. That makes four stooges, sweety.

don't worry about the murals. nobody wants to put up with the harassment of you nut bloggers. pat yourself on the back. you make rogers park a uglier place every day.
The photo looks as if they are pretending to be at the helm of the starship Enterprise.
Joe IS looking a little Shatneresque there.
