Bullets Fly in Rogers Park

6:38 PM: The wild west crime spree continues as multiple 911 calls come in for shots fired in the 2000 block of West Birchwood. Five shots were heard by one anonymous caller. Just last year someone was murdered in the exact same location. One officer near the scene claims not to have heard shots fired over the radio.

6:45 PM: Anonymous caller says someone was hit. The location of the alleged victim is 7419 North Damen. Police are looking for a male/black who fled in a vehicle that went northbound.

6:48 PM: 2430 confirms a bona fide shooting. One person hit. Asks for EMS.

6:53 PM: 2430 says the location of the shooting was the north alley by Fargo and Hoyne. The shooter shot north towards Howard, hitting an individual in the left shoulder.

6:57 PM: Police say it's a teenager who did the shooting. About 17 years old. Victim is 17 years old.

7:00 PM: This is a retaliation shooting. Which means someone is going to retaliate.

7:12 PM: Mr. Rankin at 1136 West Pratt is wasting the police officers time with his stupid parking calls during a shooting investigation. He's called multiple times and now is asking for a supervisor. This guy is a major pain in the ass.

Was anybody apprehended?

Just walked the dogs, and between 10:15pm and 10:37pm witnessed three different arrests going down in the block around Sullivan High.

Lots of police out. I dont know if its related to this "operation" thats being carried out, but if it is, keep it up!

Hey, Bernard Garbo. When pulling information off my website, please credit accordingly or don't use it.

Eric, No was was apprehended up until 10 PM last night, to the best of my knowledge. I have the victims name, but being 17 and still alive, I won't *print it.

*Sorry, Bernard, I'm not giving you anything to gossip around the neighborhood about.

Damn fine report, Mr. Gernhardt.
Did Joe Moore come over to visit the scene? You know, to show that he cares, and to see if anybody needed help?

Since it's unlikely Rankin on Pratt knew anything about the shooting over two miles away, you need to cut him a little slack.

I'm not cutting this pain-in-the-ass any slack. He calls when a car bumper is 6 inches inside his handicap pole, even when he's already parked comfortably in his spot.

He calls and calls and calls and calls and calls. The police and dispatch call him a regular.

Joe Moore should take away this spot like he took away Rankin's other spot he had. From what I've gathered Rankin has a off-street spot in his building, he doesn't need to hog the street and waste police time with his petty calls of some car bumper sticking 6 inches in his spot.

I used to live at Hoyne and Jarvis, that whole area between Ridge and Damen, Touhy and Howard has always been a problem. I felt the most unsafe there of all the places I lived in Rogers Park. I did hear gunshots while living there, but that was years ago, guess it hasn't changed even though my old building is now a spiffy gutted out condo conversion!

Question, you're talking about 2 different shootings in the links attached to the post, right? Because the calls about the shooting on Birchwood and Greenview are a different area altogether. I'm not saying it's a better area either...

A very simple solution. Dupe it out to me squad, 19P. And any supervisor that even thinks about responding to this Mr. Rankin and his "parking problem" should be returned to blueshirt staus immediately.

Sock Puppet- No one would should cut Stanley Rankin ANY slack. Never once in his pitiful life has he cut anyone any slack. He's just a slacker.

Did anybody see a trail of blood on Thursday April 16th, leading from the Howard steet station and heading north on Paulina?
