10:10 PM: A store is on fire at 1420-22 West Devon. Police and Fire are on scene. Smoke is pouring out of the ventilation system. The street is now being blocked off at Ashland on the west - Sheridan to the east. It'll be awhile before it opens up.
What I'm going to say next is not meant to wrankle anyone's sensibility but... arson is on the rise in this economy. You're facing losses of business, revenue, etc... BUT, a little fire and bingo (assuming arson is ruled out), big insurance check... This fire is probably not the case but we're going to start seeing much more arson cases as the months go by.

Today's news.
A pair of whining business owners.
A major car crash.
A stolen car recovery.
A naked man knocking on doors.
A fire.
A shooting.
Questioning where our taxpayer money went.
Still no neighborhood community newspaper reports on any of these subjects in print or on their websites.
And they call themselves journalists.
Odile Hair and Beauty Supply is at 1420 W. Devon Ave., I think. That business was issued a license at that address in February.
They're saying the major damage is the African Restaurant owned by Ms. Wells at 1422 West Devon.

Where is "Inside the News-Star" during their 'transition' period? Not covering anything?
Is it going to be a REAL community newpaper, or just another rag, as INSIDE is now?
Obviously, Craig, you and a few of us others have just become "the journalists' of the neighborhood (please include 'Avondale'?
