Several young men from outside of Rogers Park went to a restaurant & apparently just talked to them. What they said, he didn't say.
The girls, who are from Rogers Park didn't like what was said & got some guys to come. The guys are also from RP.
The first group left the restaurant, paid & were walking away, when one of the girl's friends shot the one man in the head. He is alive according to Sobczyk, but he gave no details.
A witness was being driven back to his home & so one of the shooter's group still hanging around, pointed him out to the cops & they picked up the accomplice. This wasn't the shooter, but they may still have him in custody.
Sorry, I forgot to add that Sobczyk also said the incident wasn't a gang thing.

Sobczyk said they went to eat, maybe they ate at a bar.
Obviously, the guys tried to pick up the girls & for whatever reasons, the girls didn't like that or the guys. He didn't give further details.
In stating it wasn't a gang thing, he meant that it wasn't one gang against another gang. It was one group of idiot guys who were egged on by their girlfriends to shoot the guys that tried to pick them up.
Yeah, so the girls really did cause this shooting.

Its frightening to know there are so many shootings and guns so close to home. The only upside is that they shoot at each other, and that no innocent bystanders were killed or injured...this time anyway.

As if anyone else elected as 49th Ward Alderman could do anything about the situations on Howard and Morse Aves.
The best solution was proffered by a poster from last week: Move to Glencoe.
They can definitely do something about Morse and Howard - that's not true. Clean it up, larger police presence, more lights, more 911 calls. Your attitude is what the thugs love.

My suggestion from a week ago is much better: Mow down everything east of Clark St between Howard and Morse (or even as far south as Pratt or Devon) and start over completely.
Make the problem landlords clean up their buildings and screen their tenants properly. Evict those that violate the law. If your name is not on the lease, you can't live there. If you want to live in a federally subsidized building, you must be forced to follow the rules. Don't like it? Move out.

the guys shot on morse on saturday night is my neighbor. he is not brain dead. he was unconscious for a few days after the shooting, but has since regained full consciousness.
first of all where are Sobczyk comments? Im a friend of the guy who got shot i was actually with him hours before n im gettin mixed stories of wht exactly happened by his friends that where there.. st fransis hospital is sayin he is not there but i know he is cuz im friends with one of the nurses there.. im guessin only family can see him.. last i heard he was in a coma.. sambozovich, first off if you were the good friend you claim to be you wouldn't be spillin all of the information that you are puttin on the internet. You must not be smart enough to know that you could be putting Jamie and his families safety at risk by airing what you think you know. Apparently you are trying to piece the big puzzle together and that would be better left in the hands of the Detectives. I will not be a party to any information that you think you should know but I will tell you that you would be better of contacting the proper people and leave the information off of the internet. Those that need to know his condition already know and they won't be filling the curious minds on these blogs with any information related to the victim or the case. If you claim to have so much information about the shooting maybe you should go talk to the detectives. I can assure you that you won't find anything out about his condition. You must not realize that by airing your assumptions and what you think you know you are putting the victim and his family at risk. Use your brain before you post comments on these blogs.
