Armed Robbery and Shooting on Western
8:02 PM: Bona fided armed robber holds up a store in the 6800 block of North Western, using a blue steel, semi-automatic pistol. Shots were fired. Offender fled with $200 to $400 dollars, mostly in 5's and 10's. Police are looking for a male/hispanic, 20 to 25, wearing a grey hoodie and a scarf covering his face. As of this moment no one is listed as injured.

Grammar Gal, the guy probably crossed the border into Indiana and got his gun. At least, this is what I'm told where the guns are obtained from. I'm not sure if they run a check on you or anything like that, but it probably is a proven fact that this happens.
As for the citizens, well, honestly, not all of them are getting tired of it. Some of the citizens are afraid to speak out. I am a bit too (just in fear I'll get shot since I've had a friend killed by gangs and that I've been threatened before by them). If they didn't have their little guns/knives to protect them, I'd be speaking out everyday, all day. But, believe me, I AM getting sick of the bull caused by them.
I personally do not feel safe on our streets, especially at night. Too many rowdy people outside to be safe. It seems to be that in this day and age, you'll get shot for ramdomly walking down the street while doing NOTHING to these gangbangers.
