So, as your most recent post, you attack an "Elton John" look-alike working his ass off (no pun intended) on election day, so you can cast your vote. Really, Pheobe? This stinks of homophobia -- all the way.
And, you did it so slimy, the EB moderators from the suburbs were totally clueless to your blatant bigotry. And, trust me, I've seen it. I've lived through it. (I've also witnessed -- first hand -- heterophobia, too). The fence swings both ways.
If you were pissed by Mr. Elton John" look-a-like's election day banter, you should've told him to his face you were going to blog to the world on an NBC Corporation owned website about it. After all, you own a blog at Chicago Now, talking about Rogers Park; which is owned by the Chicago Tribune. You're bigger than us lowly bloggers, but, you sure didn't write like it election day 2012. The guy was an ass. It had nothing to do with the way he was dressed. He was very unprofessional . But better than the guy down the street who was giving out provisional ballots to everyone for over 3 hours.

I think I do see to SOME degree with what Phoebe was talking about but the WAY she discussed it is turning alot of people off. How about just talking about what REALLY is the issue and not putting all the UNNECESSARY detail in it, thats what killed the story.

@rogerspark60645, you mean that handyman from "Windy City"? There's a blog where they say horrible things about him (unskilled, lazy, con artist, etc.) you should check it out because it is very mean and abrasive.
It is not only Everyblock, it is the Talk section of Yelp, Craigslist Rants and Raves and a few other local message boards dominated by the same kind (possibly THE SAME) people.
The pattern is the same, they become immune to banning and cliques due to endless self-policing and buttkissing, and then spend a large number of hours everyday running off new users, other more casual users they don't agree with, etc, etc etc.
When you private message them and call them out on their behavior, they start threads with said contents and later on start threads boasting about victories over unwanted users, bragging about bullying yet another person off the website.
One guy is pretending to be about five different people, I know for a fact he works in the office of a friend of mine and is going to be one of those people who kills everybody at work out of the blue.
CK is rendering this thread as inflammatory, inappropriate and outside the community guidelines which promote only friendly and neighborly postings. The NBC attorneys will be asked to investigate and prosecute to the full extent of the law. Excessive business or political promotion and name calling will not be tolerated. People who destroy well-intentioned sites like Everyblock (I have seen a lot of this) say they love America and freedom and free speech, but as you can see, they actually want to be the thought police and punish anybody who doesn't want to follow their lead in perfect lock-step.

I was upset with Mindcrusher (the business), but I never looked into ANY of the private lives of the people working there or who own it, why? Because Its none of my business.

Craig basically had to start a story on this one. E-block is the chatter box/gossip central for Rogers Park. And in order to have a decent conversation about the idiocy that sometimes goes on over there it has to be discussed OFF-BLOCK.

I've been on the internets since the mid 1990's and am pretty much past wanting e-fame, I just do what I do when I have the time, otherwise my life is pretty productive.
The time you spend writing stupid comments could be spent picking up trash, chasing off panhandlers (my favorite hobby), any useful thing.
