Passing the Buck

Yesterday our company had a dispute. Ultimately the blame was placed on our end. Right or wrong aside, we were debating a customer. And in the world of business, the customer is king. I took blame for the actions we had been accused of. Even tho the business owner I was debating didn't see me as the fault of the issue. He wanted some-ones head on a platter. I gave him mine.

Now, let's look how Alderman Joe Moore operates his business. Joe sent out one of his now famous propaganda email poofs this week. He actually sent out two. The one I'm referring to is in regards to his not-so-transparent zoning minutes posted on his website. The ones' that mysteriously disappeared from his website shortly after the court battle against Don Gordon to retain his high paying, do-nothing job.

In this campaign style email, Joe Moore placed blame for his error on an intern.

This has made Joe even more the butt of the jokes this week. The 49th ward laughingstock. Why? For passing the buck.

And the bloggers are having a field day. One of the best was this one... "No wonder Joe Moore doesn't fly with the eagles. He surrounds himself with a bunch of turkey's..." The was pretty funny. But it's true.

The rest of the email text Joe sent out included endless amounts of words covering his ass - and telling us how great he is. Much like our recently convicted governor does. Other than passing the blame, praise himself endlessly for no reason at all is one of the other favorite things Joe Moore loves to do. And he's good at it.

I'm guessing, when Joe was a wee lad attending school - Joe Moore passed the buck over and over to refine his skills. If he didn't finish or do his homework, and the teacher asked him why?... I'm betting he blamed his dog for eating his homework? Then he probably told the teacher he deserved an "A" for the work he didn't do.

Betsy Vandercook = $63,804

Michael Land = $51,024

Alicia Lopez = $51,024

Wayne Frazier = $34,632, plus campaign war-chest pay.

Anne Sullivan = Paid out of the campaign finances.

With these useless incompetents, it's no wonder Joe needs an flunky.

All I ever get back in an email from any of these people is that they will pass the information to the alderman. Then nothing.........

Our city & state leaders are screaming about shortfalls in the budget.

Here is a interesting story from today Tribune:

Illinois still has not officially submitted a list of shovel-ready road and mass transit projects to the federal government for funding under the economic stimulus package, U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said Tuesday, warning that time is running out.

"The law requires us to get the money out the door very quickly," LaHood said. But "we have not received a list from the state or from Chicago."

Maybe our elected officails need to get off their asses and submit the paperwork, instead of sitting around doing nothing!!

All those trips to Dunkin Donuts... seems like Moore's folks could stand to eat a little healthier. Maybe that's the problem.

Only Joe Moore could take all record of his "community" zoning process off his website for a year, and then, on the day before the last musical chair left open from the Obama election was to be settled (without him), put them back up and spin it as "the most open zoning process in Chicago"

what an absolute ass

Hey, it's not cheap to buy all those donuts, tape an illegal advertisement for yourself on the box and deliver them to the polling places during an election.

Did anybody else click around Joe's web site? The neighborhood improvements are all referring to 2007-2008. Seriously out of date. Craig, you should grab some of those pages and archive them before they do get updated.

And, one of the great hush-hush things in Illinois is how many Federal dollars have been forfeited due to our ass-hat "elected officials" (at all levels) not being able to come up with the matching funds that lever the Federal dollars. That, and not being able to file the requests before deadline have passed for the funds.

Wasn't Joe's intern Nathan, that chip off the old block?

pearl said...

Was it really Nathan who deleted the minutes?

Razldazlrr said...

the intern!! LOL - that really will go down in the record books - Can you imagine saying that to your boss? Looks like they should have paid someone to do the job, instead of buying donuts.

Lansky said...

so, for donuts alone, we're talking 2028.21---between july and november. that's some serious munchkins.

please clarify....is this money tax money, or when it says "citizens for Joe", that means it comes out of campaign contributions? i'd be happy to bring this up at the meeting on monday, but if it ain't my $$, i don't really care how he spends the cash from his developer pals.

Craig Gernhardt said...

This is not tax payer money.

Lansky said...

i'd still rip him for spending 2 G's on donuts and not spending $3 to remove the gang symbols in front of his office.

Craig Gernhardt said...

Thanks. That's fair enough.

Blames the intern. Blames the designer. It's called back up or reposting your originals (probably in Word) to the site. Lame.

Save Street End Beaches said...

The donuts were probably for his community outreach dog and pony shows, where he hangs around the el stations, etc. and hands out donuts and says, Hi, I'm Alderman Joe Moore, got any problems? Then if he recognizes you as one of the "complainers" he turns away and chats with folks who are probably new to Rogers Park.

Did you see the email that came out today? This should be quite comical - He seems to have lots of ideas and talking but very little action or implementation -
