Caught Firing Up

Smoking Crack on Morse Avenue
Crack Smokin
Seller

It's Friday morning at 5:30am. What time is it? It's crack selling & smoking time on Morse Avenue, just east of the EL tracks, in the 1300 Block of Morse Avenue, far enough from Morse Pods view. But not mine.

Here we have a 40ish black couple who bought some crack from the guy in the other photo who is being questioned by the police. The couple went in the alley to smoke the crack.

The female caught wind of me with my camera and tried to scatter. The guy.... he kept puffing away. Not a care in the world.

Footnote: The officer was "spot on" ( british slang for great job ), she caught and questioned the Open Air Drug Market Salesman I pointed out, but he was let go.

These salesman are sneeky and hide the stash well. They have hunkered down good on this side of the tracks, using the 1340 W. Morse and 1345 W. Lunt property as a gang hideout/bunker.

The couple who bought the crack...smoked all their evidence.

"That's life. Drug dealing happens every day...'' said Mayor Daley yesterday.

I wonder if this happens in Mayor Daley's neighborhood?

Craig, Great job covering the neighborhood. And thank you for keeping it going.

But, I would like to make a small suggestion to help improve readership...

1. Lengthly amounts of centered text is almost impossible to read. I would read more if it was left justified. That's how people are accustomed to reading.

2. The line length of text is too long. It is easiest to read and comprehend lines of text that contain 10-15 words per line.

I really believe that these general typography rules apply especially for websites because reading off computer screens is much more difficult than in print.

That's just my advice and line of work, take it or leave it.

Steve,
Thanks for following along. I went back to the old format as requested.
