* Let's Get to Work
Hi Craig,
I color coded the precinct map based on the election results. It's kind of interesting. Some of my new neighbors were wondering if they would be able to vote in the April runoff. They moved in on the 27th of January and weren't eligible for this round but really want to be involved in April.
Thanks for all your work Tuesday,
Chris
Blognotes: Chris, thanks for volunteering your help. Looks like we got our work cut out for us. I believe now there's a new round of voter registration going on for the April 17th run-off. I'll check, or maybe a loyal reader like 49th ward committeeman David Fagus can help us out?

While we're on the chart thingy, I wanted to thank all the readers who visited my site these last couple of days.
The numbers have gone through the roof. Thanks for reading everyone - even if you did vote Joe.
Carol,
I was shocked on the election day numbers. But I was linked up with the Chicago Readers and Capitol Fax blog, so that helped. Yesterday the numbers were just has high, but not as many page reads.
I have a feeling the numbers may drop for a few weeks, but then will pick up again in April.
Either way, I'll still do daily neighborhood blogging for those who still wake up to the 'Broken Heart'. Readers like Alderman Moore.
I forgot to mention, these numbers are in spite of a 'Broken Heart' boycott.
Broken Heart Boycott?? Never heard of this. Graig are people who can not handle truth upset?
Truth makes many people uneasy!!
I used a program that I wrote in college to map response times for fire departments. It takes data from an SQL database and matches it to a defined area on an image and then colors the area accordingly. If people want to see the election results broken down differently let me know.
It could also be done with Photoshop etc, but how often do I get the chance to break out my old program.
For the information of the residents of the 49th Ward and the 10 other wards in the City of Chicago where an Aldremanic Runoff Election is to be held, registration has reopened and will continue until March 20.
Are there numbers available on the % turnout? I'd be curious to know what percentage of registered voters actually voted.
The overall turnout for the city was 32.93% ward 49 was 34.84% and ward 50 was 42.83%.
