* CAPS Beat 2431 Meeting on Monday - Updated
After a couple months hiatus, our wonderful CAPS beat 2431 meetings are back in session. It's this Monday, January 8th, at 7p.m. The location is 1530 West Morse Avenue. For the new readers out there, this beat 2431 area covers the northside of Pratt on the south end, the southside of Lunt on the north end - the lake to Clark Street, east to west. Are you lost yet? Did you get all that?
Updated: This goofy CAPS map got me thinking. Why divide the beats up in the middle of a street? Why not break up the beats in the rear alley-ways? That way, all of Lunt (or any street effected by the odd design) would be included - instead of half of Lunt.
Blognotes: Normally only a few poorly placed flyers are found around the neighborhood for few to see. Kinda like a easter egg hunt. You really have to look hard to find them. But this time, being an election year, CAPS beat 2431 facilitator Kevin O'Neil, Alderman Moore's 'rubber stamp' citizen, covered the area with extra, extra flyers. O'Neil went all out this time. Even Kevin will tell you - if you don't know there's a CAPS beat 2431 meeting - you're not looking hard enough.
Much will be talked about (like the broken and boarded up windows that line Morse Avenue), notes will be taken, little will be done. Join us will you? This should be a exciting 'first of the year' CAPS meeting. I expect lot's of 'crime is down' stories and statistics.

Coming attractions on Monday. Tomorrow we'll be featuring another special meeting all aldermanic candidates should attend. Stay tuned for details.
with all the progress in '06 it only makes sense to step back and re-evaluate the priorities for '07
Yes joe sticks his hand up kevin ass and moves kevin lips with joes words!
This is how joe runs his ward.We have a alderman who runs the ward like it is his private business, joe gives tax dollars to "his friends" without regards to the people of the ward to help improve our ward!
Kevin's mentor Joe's campaign promises for 2007 are so close to his 1991 campaign promises that I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest the 2006 CAPS priorities could probably serve as a good starting point for the 2007 CAPS priorities.
Let's look back a year and see Hugh. From my records, only 13 people attended last years 'first of the year' priorities meeting.
2006 January notes here.
Official CAPS Beat 2431 priorities for 2006.
Nuisance crimes: Public drinking, urinating.
Neighbor: More communication and camaraderie with business owners, especially with those along Morse Avenue.
Day 11: Still no endorsement for alderman by Craig. With all his complaints about the current management of the 49th ward, you'd think he'd support someone else and let everyone know.
well if you thought the Jan '06 (an off-year) CAPS was a political circus wait til you see Jan '07!
Day 11: Every time I see Moore's stooges continue to trying to stir up a challenger v. challenger cat fight, I think to myself, Self,
"Wow, Moore's really worried about getting his 50%+1. He's already thinking ahead to the run-off, trying to get the other candidates to pitch in on trashing his run-off opponent, whoever that might be."
