Note to Alderman Stone. Never sit down next to Mr. 'Broken Heart' and fall asleep.
Today at the Operation Triple Threat press conference, Good ole' Bernie decided to sit next to me and immediately fell sound asleep.
What he was doing there in the first place is beyond me. It wasn't his ward the bust went down in. But sure enough, there he was, right next to me, and taking a nap.
When Police spokesperson Pat Camden, nudged him awake for his portion of the speech, which was nothing more than the same bullshit lines we got earlier, I got to drill him. For once, Bernie was speechless. He couldn't answer a single question, except to tell us the gangs are "getting worse."
Thanks for the 'heads up' Bernie. Now go back to sleep.

Bernie is sleeping through a big surge in crime and gangs in the West Ridge area. He should take a look at www.chicagocrime.org at Devon Ave, 2200 - 2800 W. blocks.
Bernie should have had enough couth just to not run in the last election. After all, his pension is assured. Why couldn't he just go home and sleep? You can tell he's hung around way too long, because there was nowhere near so much crime over there 5 years ago. He's letting his ward be ruined the same way this one was 30 years ago.
The residents of the 50th missed a fine candidate in Naisy Dolar. I hope she runs again.

Hey, "thrumyeyes" from what I'm seeing of recent crime stats, Bernie's ward IS sinking to the level we have just managed to rise above, and for the same reason: the alderman is asleep at the wheel, in this case literally. The crime is getting totally out of hand over there, though that was a pristine nabe just 5 years ago.
Nothing personal wrong with Bernie, who I will admit has done a much better job than our worthless incumbant. That, however, is not saying much. Bernie is past his time and needs to turn the helm over to someone more energetic. Bernie is not keeping up with changing times.

Stone is another example of Chicago politics as usual. Another alderman who should have never been voted back in office. Sleeping on the job. . .I'm not surprised.
I don't think Stone cares much for Moore for the same reasons as Rainey - 49th ward criminal activity spilling over into their wards. Though I'm sure they also have their own share.
