The Sullivan High School students are in mid-season form. And I'm not talking about their pathetic football team. A after-school street brawl broke out around 2:55 PM today. It started at Bosworth and Pratt and continued to Farwell and Ashland. The police called for back-up at that time. Even in the rain, these kids act the fool. You got to wonder where they're learning this stuff?

Trouble at Pratt and Bosworth? Now that' something new!
I can tell you what they are not learning, and that is how to act civilized!!!!!!!
I am so sick and tired of this crap! My wife and I have decided to move out of the area due to this. We are in the market to buy and have decided to move to Wilmette, or Kenilsworth to get away from it.
Any word on how the Morse Theater is doing? I know they had a concert booked for mid-September and I wonder if it is going to happen... or was it put off due to damage from the fire.
Sorry to hear that kernel, but not surprised. You'd think the cops or somebody would know that the brawls and stuff from over the summer are bound to spill out in the closed confines of high school. And nine times out of 10 is all over some stupid reason.
Ok, 10 times out of 10...
Last night at approx. 11 pm while walking dogs I saw two young girls, about 11 yo, maybe 12 yo, walking south on Ashland from Chase. And I wondered to myself what parent lets their young children cruise around a city by themselves at that hour and why those 2 hadn't been in bed, asleep, at least an hour or more earlier. Clearly the parent courses that our social welfare agencies provide aren't working.

That's after curfew now that school has started, isn't it? Next time call the cops. Seriously. Don't the parents get fined nowadays for their kids out after curfew? Hit 'em where it hurts, cause obviously their kids ain't where it hurts.
Too many high schools these days seem to function more as open juvenile correctional facilities rather than places of education. School administrators and teachers have been stripped of their authority to discipline. Few parents know how to raise kids, and many more don't care. And the social service system penalizes any adult who demands that kids learn to show respect and toe the line.
It's no wonder things happen like they do.

Hit them where it hurts? Who is going to collect the fines? Yes, fine the parents because that will fix their lack of parenting skills.
yea sullivan is out of control i go to that schoool and they just want to fight anybody

Who gives a f*ck about their parenting skills? I'm talking about them making sure their rugrats are in the house when they're supposed to be. After that, who gives a f*ck about their "parenting skills". Start fining parents and suspending the drivers licenses, etc. of those who don't pay and trust me, you'll see them scouring the streets for their wayward kids.
Money talk, buddy. F*ck parenting skills.
