* A Coe Hole No More

We watched it rot. We watched it sit. We watched it rot some more. We watched as the wall collapsed. We watched as it nearly exploded. We watched it get demolished. We watched it sit some more. We watched the weeds grow. We watched as the garbage piled up. We watched as the fence blew over. We watched as the fence blew over again.

Now we'll watch them build Kimberly Bares new home. Any day now, we'll all be able to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee across the street and talk about the good old times. Won't that be fun?

Blognotes: For my new readers. A Coe Hole refresher course:

Does everyone remember Mr. Coe?

Mr. Coe is one of the Alderman's pals.

Mr. Coe has 49th ward clout.

Mr. Coe knows how to play hardball.

Yet, Mr. Coe couldn't keep track of what was going on half the time.

Mr. Coe insults his future new neighbors.

Mr. Coe has poor demolition habits, caught here on the Broken Heart.

49th ward zoning member David Fagus added his two cents.

This is what Katy Hogan thinks about the Coe Hole.

Updated: More Problems - 11/25/2006 - The neighbor who said Mr. Coe tried to blow up the neighborhood with the gas leak tells me it was worse than she thought.

Seems through the whole ordeal, right up to last month, there was a live electrical power line that was hanging on the protection fence. It wasn't always on the fence. During the demolition, it was laying on the ground. The neighbor called the Com-Ed to get the live wire shut off. A Com-Ed rep told her, had anything gone wrong, it would have been disastrous. Knowing how this project has gone so far - that's par for the course.

You could have had a nice electric fence or floor over there. So that's the best developer that could be found?

Be grateful DevCorp gets to reside there, not us! And, they're on the ground level.

Pancake.

IS THE CONSTRUCTION A UNION JOB OR A JOMO JOB-

Excellent Question. With all the union support [the current incumbent alderman] received, you'd think he would insist on using exclusively union workers on these projects.

Not.

Aronson is advertising this property as 25% sold already!

Wonder how many were sold to friends at a low, low rate?

How many units are CPAN?

the 25% probably refers to DevCorp being lined up for the 1st floor

cpan: 0
